We at Smallbone value and cherish our relations with British designers who have enabled our company to be the leading ambassador for British craftsmanship. We aim to exhibit British craftsmanship and design skills at its peak level, so we have launched several new collaborations with the top British designers and craftsmen who are experts at what they do and are also celebrated for their work.
The first collaboration relationship was with the genius William Yeoward and Nina Campbell whom we invited to design signature motifs to be hand-painted on our kitchen cabinets. Smallbone has been the pioneer company who introduced hand-painted kitchen cabinets to the furniture market. The collaboration has resulted into achieving some of the best designs which are truly inspiring, elegant and exceptional. This relationship has further worked towards justifying this innovative design idea that changes revolutionized kitchen cabinets.
The inspiring design can be well perceived with Nina Campbells signature design of a dresser which is adorned with a beautiful snakeskin like print in combination with a spectacular black and metallic finishing. This subtle new style goes well with the fine architectural lines of our handmade cabinets and changes in color and perspective under different lightings. This particular collection was named, Gilty by the designer.
On the other hand William Yeoward has played with his affinity towards driftwood in combination with a palette of soft grey shades that create an air of sophistication almost like a trompe loeil effect. The blend of wood grain in combination with grey paints creates a beachcomber effect that is reminiscent of the seashore. Williams signature material- driftwood in combination with hand-painted tones brings an airy feel to any kitchen, bathroom or bedroom. Smallbones special hand-painted cabinets in combination with William Yeowards lightings can transform any kitchen into an exotic beachside holiday destination.
Another treasured association of Smallbone is its relationship with Raymond Blanc. His world renowned restaurant Le Manoir aux QuatSaisons is a tranquil 15th century manor house set in Oxford shire. Its name is now synonymous with style, taste and sophistication. We at Smallbone were proud to be a part of refurbishing his cookery school, and helped to create an excellent culinary institution with style and functionality at its highest. Monsieur Blanc wanted Smallbone to build durable and strong cabinetry that could take the pressure of the continuous use by his students eight hours a day for seven days a week. But still have enough subtlety that complements La Manoirs delicate environment and surroundings.
We adorned Raymond Blanc Cookery School with our special Mandarin kitchen collection that is made with European oak wood of the finest quality and grain. The kitchen layout has a central demonstration area and is divided into individual work stations for the students who continually flow throughout this culinary institution. The work stations are constructed about the perimeter of the room. We are very pleased with M. Blancs satisfaction and appreciation with our design he commented I was familiar with Smallbones reputation and felt that its dedication to high-quality craftsmanship would complement my own passion for perfection. After eight years the kitchen looks as good as it did when it was first installed. These kind words from all such satisfied customers as a note of appreciation towards our efforts drive us to continue to innovate home furnishing and take it to whole new levels.
